Lawrenceville, GA – (June 30, 2006) – Network Communications, Inc. (NCI), the leading publisher of targeted local media serving the real estate and home remodeling and design markets, today announced the acquisition of Accent Home & Garden, the leading home design magazine for Northern New England, and Accent on Lifestyle, a lifestyle magazine for the same community. NCI acquired the publications from Accent Magazine, Inc. of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
With the acquisition of Accent Home & Garden and Accent on Lifestyle, NCI’s roster of home improvement and design magazines climbs to 14 publications, spanning Atlanta, Colorado, St. Louis, Kansas City, Seattle, Las Vegas, Dallas, and now New England. Most recently, NCI acquired Home Improvement Dallas and will next launch Greater Metro Washington Home Improvement in August 2006.
“Acquiring two publications of this quality, in the affluent and growing seacoast region of New England, does a lot to strengthen our home improvement and design category by expanding our footprint to the northeast,” said Adam Japko, President, Network Communications' Home Design Division. “We’ll continue to look to make these kinds of acquisitions, as they allow us to add important consumer markets and increase our ability to provide quality marketing and lead generation programs to local and regional remodeling service and product advertisers.”
Accent Home & Garden, a bi-monthly magazine launched in 2003, will continue to provide homeowners in Northern New England with information and ideas on architecture, interior design décor, gardening and landscaping. Its sister publication, Accent on Lifestyle, a bi-monthly magazine launched in 2005, will also continue to offer affluent consumers in the same region with a fresh perspective on the joys of living in Northern New England.
“We’re excited to be joining the NCI family of publications. It’s a great opportunity to further grow these magazines so that we can provide our readers with the best possible content and ideas for and about their home and lifestyle,” said Cindy Dodds, CEO and Director of Operations, Accent Magazines.
And although ownership has changed, the magazines will continue to be operated and published by the current Accent staff in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
